Excited to say that Just The Watts is finally in a place where I am comfortable doing an official release in the App Store. For those that don’t know, any time you submit a new application, or any subsequent updates, there is a review process that must be gone through. Apple is very precise about what applications get approved, and there is no room for nuance. Your ducks must all be in a row, and on their best behavior.
It has been a few days since I first submitted Just The Watts to the review team at Apple, and we have gone back and forth a few times with changes that need to be made for the app to be approved. When I first got in to developing the app I set it up to integrate with Healthkit (An API from Apple to retrieve health-related data from the phone), but quickly realized that I didn’t need to use any of its features, at least not yet.
Long story short, you have to set up certain permissions in different places in the application to use Healthkit. I didn’t have all of those permissions removed, and Apple has certain guidelines about apps that implement Healthkit that I wasn’t meeting (Because I thought I wasn’t using it anymore). I believe all my ducks are now behaving nicely, and we should be seeing a release to the App Store soon. Stay tuned!
